The "Blackphabet bis" necklaces are black and white constructions featuring flexible ropes of varying diameters housed in the space of a tube. This combination creates a graphic, telescopic contrast, playing with angles and curves on the surface of the body. In reaction to preciousness and beauty, Joanne Grimonprez creates jewellery that plays with the codes of padlocks and anti-theft devices, jewellery that is fundamentally urban.
