Vis, Grădina Secreta – Toamna 4

For these series of paintings, tapestries and hangings, entitled "Rêves" (Dreams), Ciprian Tocu combines textiles with the materials he uses for his ceramics. Each series is produced from cotton and linen canvases, which he carefully superimposes before depositing barbotine and oxides on the first layer.
The pattern composed by the material is replicated on each of the lower layers until it gradually fades away. However, his stabilised but living works do not stand still. Their suppleness survives the ceramic medium, they move gracefully and their narrative remains open to interpretation by those who wish to plunge into the depths and dreams of the earth.
