Pulling out the Ariadne’s thread
Let the people who created them talk about their objects. Let’s re-establish the dialogue between the creator and his work. Let’s pull out Ariadne’s thread.
‘Nature is at the heart of my inspiration and, faced with its impermanence, I experience abstract sensations that I wanted to translate. That’s why I’ve moved away from the realism imposed by the profession of floral designer. I’m constantly experimenting with techniques and materials such as sumi (Japanese ink), kinzoku-fun (metal powders) and iwo-inogu (natural mineral pigments). In this work, the silk blends with the plaster to the point of merging with it, an ambiguity that is found in many of my creations. Plant debris, shell or cocoon, this sculpture explores the representation of time.’
