The "Fragile" furniture collection, made from extremely fine glass, defies all expectations. Despite their ethereal beauty and the apparent delicacy of the material, these pieces are designed with a hidden robustness that makes them suitable for everyday use. From delicate side tables that safely hold personal items to seemingly frail chairs that provide reliable seating, 'Fragile' reminds us that appearances can be deceiving.
Created from recycled glass from a former furniture company that went bankrupt, these smoked glass art objects transcend conventional perceptions. Recycled glass, metaphorical in its scars and imperfections, symbolises the fragility inherent in the human experience. Yet its shiny, seemingly delicate surface embodies the strength that emerges from accepting vulnerabilities. At the intersection of art and design, Thibeau Scarcériaux's work here finds a new mode of expression through the object, celebrating resilience and the transformative power of creativity.
