Ciprian Tocu

Ciprian Tocu uses ceramics to develop a series of repetitive black sandstone objects, which has become his main means of artistic expression, and blurs the border between the decorative and the utilitarian.

Ciprian is from Romania and obtained a Masters in Design from the Faculty of Fine and Decorative Arts and Design at the University of Iasi, Romania, in 2001. He has lived in Paris since 2003, where he trained in luxury product marketing. He worked in object and interior design for several years as well as in exhibition scenography and painting. He subsequently developed an artistic concept on dreams, which led him to creating his latest series of paintings called “Dreams”, shown in Paris, London, New York, South Korea and Japan. Ciprian then evolved towards creating handcrafted objects. He therefore completed several training courses in ceramics and enamel research between 2013 and 2019.
